Community Food Funders and the Environmental Grantmakers Affinity Group of the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers are collaborating to co-sponsor a meeting for NJ funders interested in food system change.

[UPDATE:  A recap of the meeting is now available online]

Food touches everything. How we grow, harvest, process, package, transport, market, consume, and dispose of our food has far reaching impacts on the health and well-being of individuals, communities, and the environment.

Join us for a discussion on the complex relationship between food and the environment, and the challenges and opportunities to ensuring that New Jersey has an equitable, ecologically sound, and economically robust food system. We’ll share findings from a recent analysis and plan for North Jersey’s foodshed, examine the needs of underserved communities, and explore the opportunities to learn from and network with food funders from the region. You’ll leave with a better understanding of what New Jersey’s food system is, what it could be, and how your philanthropic goals and interests can advance a vision for a sustainable food system in the Garden State.

The panel presentation and discussion will begin at 10:30am and conclude at 12pm.

Grantmakers will convene for a lunchtime meeting from 12-1pm.
