Hattie Carthan Community Food Projects of Brooklyn, NY has been named the winner of the 2020 Community Food Funders Champions Award! Five funders in the CFF network, plus the 2019 winner Groundswell Center, comprised the selection committee. Hattie Carthan was chosen in recognition of their community-based principles, food production and food access programs, spiritual guidance and healing, and local leadership.

Join the 2019 CFF Champion Award winner, Groundswell Center for Local Food & Farming, for this year’s Champions Briefing, an event wholly designed and created by the award recipient. Groundswell Center will dig deep into their process of centering racial equity and anti-racist principles into their agricultural organization and discuss how to bring this work into your organization or foundation. As a non-profit with predominantly white leadership, Groundswell will examine staff/board development, relationship building, organizational policymaking, and systems for accountability.
