Whether your focus is nutrition or hunger, food chain workers or farmland preservation, emergency food or food waste, we all have a part to play in creating the just food system that everyone deserves. On March 24th, CFF partnered with Philanthropy New York to host Barbara Turk for a briefing titled NYC’s Food Policy Director on Health, Hunger, and Equity. You can find a video recording of the briefing below. Her office also has a new website that just recently launched. The conversation covered a wide range of topics including the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact and NYC’s role in it’s development, the 2015 NYC Food Metrics Report, and the inclusion of food in the OneNYC Plan. There was also a robust Q&A with the audience.

Please join us for an opportunity to hear from Barbara Turk, New York City’s Director of Food Policy, on the City’s progress in strengthening New York City’s food system so that it works for all New Yorkers. The mission of the Office of the Food Policy Director is to advance the City’s efforts to increase food security, promote access to and awareness of healthy foods, and support economic justice and opportunity in the food system. The Office coordinates multiple City agencies and offices and brokers partnerships with advocates, nonprofit and community organizations, philanthropy and the private sector.
